Water and Fire~Chapter 91.1: Wet Body and Nosebleed

Chapter 91.1: Wet Body and Nosebleed

He had just taken a bite of the remaining half bowl of noodles when he saw a figure running out of the skewers shop next to the snack bar.

White T-shirt, blue shorts, ponytail.

The legs beneath the blue shorts were long and straight, white, slender, and well-proportioned.

Beautiful legs with a double top.

He couldn't help but put down his chopsticks, his eyes following the girl's figure, moving into the chaotic battle between the two groups.

The girl who had called her, Huang Ying, seemed to be her name. Seeing her appear, Huang Ying was more excited than seeing a family member. Huang Ying pulled her aside and quickly explained the whole story of the chaos.

"Wang Shu, Qiu Yun, Liu Liu, and I were classmates. She was incredibly innocent and nicknamed "Little." She was completely deceived by an older man. She was on an internship and was spotted by a client of the company. The older man pursued her fervently. Having grown up without a father, she couldn't resist and started dating him. He lied to her and said he was single, and she had always told us she planned to marry him after graduation. But today, come and admire that fierce, shrewish auntie across the street. She's the wife of the prodigal older man."

Huang Ying quickly informed the girl with slender white legs that the older man's wife was adamant that Wang Shu was deliberately being a mistress and refused to accept the claim that she was being a mistress. So, she brought her men to rant about it, and then, after ranting enough, she ordered them to strip Wang Shu naked and parade her through the streets.

He saw the girl, stunned. "What a ridiculous story! Why didn't they call the police? They'll all go quiet once the police show up!"

Huang Ying told her, "It'll be bad if we go to the police station."

She then swallowed and said, "Okay, I'll have a debate with this woman, but let's make it quick. I haven't even finished my skewers yet."

He overheard this, feeling a bit amused as he sat at an outdoor table in the snack bar.

He saw the girl first go to Wang Shu to verify the situation. She asked a few questions, like, "You really didn't know the old man was married?" She observed Wang Shu's expressions and emotions through her answers to determine if she was lying.

He figured she wasn't blindly chivalrous; she had her own judgment.

The girl named Wang Shu showed her her phone, which looked like a chat dialog box.

He watched the girl nod after reading the phone screen. She patted Wang Shu on the shoulder and said, "Senior, I get it. He did cheat on you. Wait for me to help you argue with Auntie."

He guessed the chat screen must have proof of an older man cheating on a younger woman, so he added a text like "I'm single" and sent it over from the chat window. He watched the girl bravely step forward and reason with the middle-aged woman on the other side, who was cursing and spitting.

She said kindly and gently, "Auntie, please calm down."

The middle-aged woman then yelled, "Who are you calling 'Auntie'? Do you think I'm a vegetable vendor?"

She immediately corrected herself, "Well, Auntie, please calm down."

He almost laughed again.

He heard her crisp yet clear reasoning, "Auntie, this isn't my senior's fault. It's your husband who pretended to be single and took advantage of my off-campus internship to pursue her. Actually, my senior is innocent. So if you really want to criticize her, you should take your men back and capture your husband alive to criticize him. You've mistakenly identified the target of class struggle."

The middle-aged woman glared at her, lashing out at her. "Stop talking nonsense! Have you grown all your hair yet? You're trying to sow discord with me. I tell you, little bastard, your crude tricks are beyond my reach."

The middle-aged woman's tongue was unpleasant, and her words were unpleasant to the ear. He rarely heard such vulgar language, and he frowned in utter displeasure. If he hadn't wanted to see how she would respond, he would have gotten up and left, sparing his ears any more pollution.

The middle-aged woman spoke with a dirty, presumptuous air. Seeing the girl wasn't anxious or angry, she smiled and said, "Aunt, this is the thing. My great-grandmother has passed away. If you really want to be my great-grandmother, then I wish you the same as she did. Rest in peace."

He raised an eyebrow. She was truly a sharp-tongued person, ruthless without even a single curse word.

The middle-aged woman immediately became even more enraged, yelling at her, "Who are you cursing to death, you little bastard? I'll kill you if you die! You little bastard, if you walk down the street today, you'll get run over!"

She pointed her finger back and forth in front of her and her four senior classmates, cursing, "You thought your institutions of higher learning could produce good people, but all you've produced is a bunch of vixens, vile little bitches, shameless and despicable. You've read your books like dogs, you've lost all sense of shame. Your parents and teachers can't teach you those bastard brains. They can't teach you to live with dignity. Okay? Today, I'm going to teach you a lesson."

A stream of obscenities filled his ears, and he frowned, his instincts viscerally unsettled. He was thankful the alley wasn't crowded right now. Aside from a few shop owners and a few customers standing at the door watching the fun, no one else had flocked in to watch. Otherwise, it would have been a truly unbearable farce.

Her four senior students couldn't help but explode upon hearing this. They tried to argue with the middle-aged woman, but their words were too stilted to come out, and they were immediately outmatched.

She remained smiling, seemingly unmoved. But he noticed a fierceness in her eyes. This only intensified his interest.

She was a woman who held her composure, one who wouldn't be easily provoked into losing her composure.

She remained gentle and said to the middle-aged woman, "Auntie, if you insist on speaking like this, peppering your sentences with curse words and peppering them with personal attacks, then I won't be polite."

Her expression changed, her smile disappearing, and her serious, imposing side emerged. She transitioned from "courtesy first" to "force later."

"You say our institutions of higher learning can't produce good people, yet your husband still licks our students' boots, wailing and gesturing to the heavens and the earth, claiming his wife was hit by a car and killed years ago. And you, Auntie, licks your husband's boots like crazy, unconcerned with his verbal accusations of wife-killing, and even less willing to confront him about his infidelity. So, in this chain of licking, you're the lowest of the low. You call my senior sister despicable and shameless, but aren't you calling yourself even less despicable and shameless?"

She said this with a sigh on her face, a look that could truly infuriate someone. He couldn't help but curl his lips. He thought the middle-aged woman across from him should learn from her how to curse without using profanity and still infuriate someone to death.

He heard the girl named Huang Ying whisper something in her ear.

From the distance, their voices were too quiet, so he couldn't make out what they were saying.

But he noticed that Huang Ying seemed to make a "immediate" sound with her lips mid-sentence. He figured Huang Ying was probably telling her to try and stall for time, to prevent the shrewish auntie from the other side from ordering the others to rush over and strip Wang Shu's clothes. The boys from our class would be arriving soon.

The middle-aged woman, either having cursed enough or unable to curse enough, had already begun to gather her companions to prepare for the stripping.

He couldn't help but hesitate. Should I leave now and avoid this mess, or wait and see?

While he was hesitating, he heard the girl say to the people around the middle-aged woman, "To all the friends brought by this aunt, I'm telling you, you really shouldn't resort to violence. This is the truth. I'm a law student at the law school. Our professor is incredibly famous. Under his guidance, we've made it as easy as cleaning the house. I've already called the police, and they'll be here soon. If you really resort to violence, we'll lie down immediately. Once the police arrive, we'll examine our injuries and then sue you. Then, none of you can escape. You'll all go to jail. And once you're in jail, your children's future will be ruined. It will affect their future Party membership, promotions, and political review."

Her half-truthful and half-shamed threats had the effect of frightening some of the people on the other side.

Someone stopped the middle-aged woman and said, "Forget it. Go back. Don't resort to violence. It will affect your children."

The middle-aged woman slapped his hand away, her face brimming with indignation. "That little bastard frightened you with just a few words. What's so f*cking scary about her? I don't believe she's that capable."

As soon as the middle-aged woman finished her words, the girl casually recited several legal provisions for intentional injury, defamation, and insult. Huang Ying and the others stood by, giving her a thumbs-up.

The middle-aged woman still looked stern, but her actions were already being held back by the legal screed.

She pointed at the bright-eyed, white-toothed girl in exasperation and cursed, "Where the hell did you come from, you little bastard? What the hell has this got to do with you? Get out of here! If you keep on arguing with me, I'll strip you naked and tear you to pieces!"

The girl immediately replied, "You say this has nothing to do with me, then that's fine. It's also none of my senior's business. Ultimately, this is a matter between you two. One of you is a toad wanting to eat swan meat, and the other isn't restraining himself and is trying to kill the swan. Oh, this swan is truly unlucky!"

After a pause, she added, "By the way, Auntie, I'm afraid you can't follow my polite way of cursing. I just called your husband a toad. Think about your place in society."

He couldn't help but laugh this time. He put his fist to his mouth and coughed.

The middle-aged woman realized she was calling her a female toad and immediately launched into a furious outburst. The next second, a barrage of obscenities erupted from her lips.

He frowned as he listened. It was so filthy. He had never heard so many curse words in his entire life as today.

He actually stood up and wanted to leave, to get away from this pool of foul noise.

But he was also a little worried.

For some reason, he was worried that the girl would suffer.

The girl, however, acted as if she had heard nothing of the curse words, and her smile returned.

He thought then and there, she was truly infuriating. The more angry others were, the less angry she became.

She continued to rage, grinning. "Auntie, you're getting more and more obscene. Seriously, if we're arguing, I'd buy you some clove and osmanthus tea. You don't know what these two are used for, do you? They're a famous folk remedy for bad breath."

Hearing this, her senior classmates couldn't help but cheer her up, praising her, "You're so talented! You even use folk remedies to curse people. That's why people need to be cultured and knowledgeable." The latter part was offensive to the middle-aged woman.

The middle-aged woman's profanity was unstoppable, but she couldn't overcome the civilized cursing. She finally ended the verbal fight and engaged in a physical confrontation, shouting to her companions, "I asked you to come here to kill her! Come here and strip that little bitch naked!" Suddenly, her eyes gleamed fiercely, and she declared again, "Tear this nosy little bastard's mouth apart first!"

With this, she charged at the girl, swinging her hand.

She was a massive figure, almost twice her size.

At that moment, he didn't know what he was doing, only that he suddenly felt himself moving.

When he stopped moving again, he found himself standing in front of the girl, holding the middle-aged woman's wrist as she attempted to slap her.

Then he turned to look at her and asked, "Are you okay?"

When she saw that it was him blocking her path, she immediately broke into a brilliant smile.

She practically jumped for joy, her eyes twinkling and her brows curved, calling him, "Senior, senior!"

At that moment, the middle-aged woman called out to the people she had brought with her, urging them to move forward.

Two people hesitated, clearly intimidated by the laws the girl behind him was mumbling. But the others rushed forward.
