Extra Chapter 3: With Light
2
Lin Yusen was woken up by a
pillow hitting him.
Even the usually quick-witted Dr.
Lin was momentarily disoriented upon waking.
He sat up, turned on the light,
and absently clutched the pillow, seeing his wife angrily accusing him:
"You actually broke up with me!"
He reacted in a second,
"What did you dream about?"
Although Dr. Lin was usually
focused on his academics, he was also energetic and had a wide range of
interests. He had naturally read stories online about wives dreaming of their
husbands cheating and then angrily beating them upon waking.
He never expected it to happen to
him.
He immediately became excited,
grabbing his wife's hand and asking, "You dreamed we broke up? Or did I
bring it up? Why? Was my reason valid?"
Why was he so excited? As for
why? Uh…
This dream was quite vivid, so
vivid that Xi Guang felt a little embarrassed. It was really strange; they'd
been married for several years, and she was still dreaming about their
university days. It just didn't make sense.
But at this moment, she needed to
be assertive. Xi Guang said angrily, “Even if you have a good reason, does that
mean you can break up?”
“You’re right.” His wife’s
unreasonable behavior had a lot of merit. Lin Yusen skillfully affirmed his
wife, then, with the spirit of a researcher, meticulously analyzed the
situation, “You said break up, not divorce. Was the dream before we got
married?”
Nie Xi Guang: “…”
She couldn't let him analyze it
like that. Xi Guang cleverly skipped that part and steered his attention
elsewhere: “It’s a dream, how could there be a reason for breaking up? It was
just your unreasonable behavior.”
Lin Yusen’s attention was indeed
diverted: “How did I cause trouble? Tell me.”
“In the dream, I went to a
charity auction, and you went too, and then…” You ignore all my love. "Xi
Guang gave a rough description of the dream, emphasizing on his evil deeds and
jealousy, "Then when it came to the auction, you sat in front of me and
kept chatting with the young lady next to you very unethically, which was
extremely disturbing. The most outrageous thing is that I liked a luminous
pearl and wanted to take a photo of it, but you actually spent a million
dollars and snatched it away from me. "
"I should have... given it
to you?"
"Yes, you gave it to
me." Xi Guang gritted her teeth and said, "You gave me a box and kept
the beads!"
"Hmm." Lin Yusen tasted
it, "This... brother in the dream has some tricks. He did this after
breaking up. His purpose..."
"You."
"What?"
"You." Xiguang
emphasized.
"..." Lin Yusen took
the pot on his back obediently, "My goal is mostly to retreat in order to
advance."
"So, my ultimate goal is to
get our Miss Nie, so Xiguang, why did I break up in the dream?"
Nie Xiguang: "..."
No, why did he come back again?
But recalling the rational, even
somewhat cold, stranger Lin Yusen in her dream, curiosity stirred within her.
She silently lay back down on the
bed, pulling Lin Yusen closer to her, and leaned against him, asking,
"Yusen, if, a long, long time ago, when we first got together, I had been
a little wavering, a little hesitant, what would you have done?"
Lin Yusen immediately understood,
somewhat surprised, but smiled slightly and said with absolute certainty,
"You never were."
"So certain?" Xi Guang
was a little unconvinced.
"I have basic
judgment." His hand gently stroked her bright eyes.
Those eyes always shone brightly
when they looked at him, radiating a joyful and luminous light. How could he
doubt, how could he waver?
"And what if?"
"What if." Lin Yusen
sighed; it seemed she wouldn't sleep until she got an answer.
He helplessly embraced her,
pondered for a moment, and said, "My girlfriend is a sincere, kind,
intelligent, and gentle girl. With a girl like that, I don't think any tricks
are necessary. If she doesn't like me enough right away, I'll win her over honestly,
not torment her."
"Besides, how could I risk
losing her completely?"
Nie Xiguang looked at him, her
eyes sparkling. She didn't tell him that although she had been lively and
playful since waking up, the oppressive and suffocating feeling from her dream
seemed to have carried some of it into reality, lingering in her heart.
Until this moment.
The lingering gloom in her heart
was finally completely dispelled, and a warm feeling filled every corner of her
body again.
She leaned in and kissed him on
the lips, declaring contentedly, "Sleep!"
Lin Yusen: "..."
He silently reached out and
turned off the light.
However, after only a minute of
silence, she tugged at the sleeve of his pajamas again.
"Yusen."
"Hmm?"
"This dream was a mess, but
there's something good about it."
"What?"
"You see, even though we
broke up temporarily in the dream, we'll definitely be together in the end,
right?"
"Of course."
"Then I'll have that
luminous pearl and that pretty box! You bought them, so they'll be mine in the
end, right? The pearl and the box are both very pretty, it's a pity it was just
a dream!"
Xiguang began to express her
sincere regret.
A moment later, she asked a new
question, "Is the luminous pearl a fluorescent stone? Does it emit
radiation? The price seems a bit expensive? But a charity auction doesn't
matter..."
Lin Yusen: "...Never mind,
don't sleep."
He stretched out his long arm and
pulled her into his arms with one hand. Xiguang let out a brief gasp, which was
immediately silenced.
Between being held down and
forcefully kissed, Xi Guang struggled to create a sliver of space to protest,
"Wait, what's your excuse... I only said a few words. My quota for tonight
is used up!"
She was panting.
Lin Yusen rolled over, trapping
her beneath him, and answered sternly, "Disturbing the peace."
Nie Xi Guang: "..."
Who's disturbing whom?!
Exhausted, Nie Xi Guang finally
fell into a deep sleep again. In the darkness, Lin Yusen gazed at her, unable
to sleep for a long time. He hadn't told her that he had actually heard about
such a charity auction from his grandfather a few years ago.
Why would Xi Guang dream of it?
Perhaps she had heard her mother
mention it?
This dream was quite strange. Lin
Yusen pondered for a long time, finally giving up on investigating.
After all, it wasn't important.
What mattered was that at this
moment, this radiant pearl was with him, in his arms.
