30.1: Slapped in the Face Again
As soon as Chu Qianmiao heard the word "woman,"
she knew it wasn't something Ren Yan had said.
For Ren Yan, the word was simply too extravagant. She
couldn't imagine Ren Yan, with his apathetic face, saying something like
"Chu Qianmiao will definitely be an exceptionally talented woman in the
future," unless he had been possessed by some unknown creature.

On the opposite wall, a TV was on, and a program about

The university student was upset, calling the old man a

that it can be used everywhere?"
Gu Miaoyu was both angry and melancholy. "It's because
of these ungrateful bad guys that people who are eager to do good things are
made to look like idiots! And instead of condemning the bad guys, some people
label those who are eager to do good things as saints. The world's values are
being distorted by these bad guys!"
Chu Qianmiao thought back to what had happened on the
project that day. She told Gu Miaoyu how she had helped Sui Huan, how Sui Huan
had been so ungrateful, and how she had repeatedly blamed her for any problems.
Gu Miaoyu was furious.
"This Sui Huan and that college student are just as
good as each other, both ungrateful! Why are they so common these days?"
Chu Qianmiao asked Gu Miaoyu, "So, Xiao Daogu, if
someone needs help in the future, do you think I'll still help them?"
Gu Miaoyu replied confidently, "Of course! Where does
that idiom come from? We can't throw the baby out with the bathwater, right? We
can't ignore those who truly need help just because of a few ungrateful
people."
She pointed at the TV. On the screen, an old man was crying
bitterly. Two young men were beside him, one holding him and the other wiping
his tears. They were both concerned and heartbroken. They were other children
the old man had sponsored.
"Look, even if the old man sponsored ungrateful people,
he also sponsored grateful children."
Chu Qianmiao pondered, "The securities agent at our
friendly company believes that when working on a project, one should be
rational, calm, or even a little aloof, and focus on the project. He says it's
